Domestic Inventory Analyst - GTM Sportswear (Manhattan, KS) in Manhattan, Kansas For Sale
Position: Domestic Inventory Analyst Location: Manhattan, KS Job Id: xxxx # of Openings: 1 GTM Sportswear is looking for a Domestic Inventory Analyst who is directly responsible for managing a unique vendor assortment and all associated styles. At the vendor level, the analyst will handle day to day communications and cultivate the front-line vendor relationships. Style management will consist of recommending and developing replenishment procedures by style, purchasing based on live demand and forecast demand, discontinued inventory, as well as business intelligence reporting for internal and external use. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Checks, edits, and places purchase orders, drop ship orders, ASI orders, and bulk POs into the ERP system on a daily basis to meet company and customer demands. * Manually enters complete purchase orders into the ERP system, as needed. * Forecasts SKUs and places seasonal booking/blocking orders using the FM11 program, previous years sales information, and sales growth in order to meet company and customer demands. * Proactively communicates with Suppliers, Receiving, Accounting, and Sales regarding: adjustments, discrepancies, back orders, availability issues, delivery changes, discontinued items, substitutes, and returns to vendor. * Responds to daily emails from various company departments to answer colleagues questions regarding order placement, their current order details/status, whether materials can be obtained to make a specific order, etc. * Researches, develops and uses business intelligence reports to make recommendations, improve practices, gain further efficiency, and maximize profitability. * Collaborates with Design, Marketing, and Suppliers regarding Domestic Catalog and Web Assortments including: item creation and maintenance, verification of product information, pricing recommendations, samples, and proofreading. * Actively works with the Warehouse Team to communicate large inbound shipments and manages permanent location assignment. * Serves as the front line of communication during negotiations with current and potential suppliers; provides insight to management regarding negotiation opportunities and price sensitivity using this front-line knowledge/experience. * Effectively and efficiently negotiates with vendors in order to obtain the best price possible. * Clearly defines the service levels expected from the vendor and their relative costs. * Contacts vendor regarding unexpected problems and failures to address them. * Defines a reference point as a marker of satisfactory standards to be expected of the vendor. * Completes position specific training plan and engages in continuous development to improve working abilities and continue professional development. * Upholds the company values: Accountable, Coachable, Demonstrates Courage, Communicates Effectively, Relates Well to Others, Collaborates, Drives for Results, Solves Problems, and Executes Effectively. * Assumes other duties as assigned (e.g., side projects upon supervisor request, helping colleagues with M3/Wyatt training). * Actively engages in continuous training/learning in various programs and subjects related to Supply Chain in order to update skills and knowledge. * Fills in and completes tasks for work colleagues when they are absent from the office (as needed). Education: * Bachelors degree required Job Requirements: * Strong computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience in computerized inventory systems a plus * Effective interpersonal and written communicational skills * Resourceful and well organized * Works well under pressure and possesses the ability to multi-task * Successful completion of job tasks while in a fast-paced environment * Highly self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision * Demonstrates a working knowledge of Enterprising Resources Planning (ERP) software, Demand Solutions Forecasting Management System, series 11 (FM11), and eSPS (preferred).
