Who can be in the study?
I want to invite you to participate in this research study if you meet the following criteria:
1. You have an interest in technology trends.
2. You are a professor or student in a graduate professional program and have taught or taken distance learning classes.
What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of this study is to explore how technologies can potentially be used by professors and students in a distance learning environment and the likelihood of acceptance of these technologies. Examining how professors and students feel and think about these technologies in a distance learning context can provide educators and decision makers a better understanding of the technology?s potential use. This understanding may lead educators and decision makers to devise strategic plans for restructuring and redesigning the distance learning environment and as a result, enhance the teaching and learning processes in the distance learning program.
What will taking part involve for me?
I intend to conduct one interview, on the phone or via an online conference service, for approximately 60 minutes. The interview will be recorded and the transcript sent to you for your review and edits. To safeguard your confidentiality and anonymity, you will be given a pseudonym, and all identifying information, such as your name will be removed. The audio recording, transcript of our discussion, your contact information, and any other identifying data will be safely stored and encrypted for security on any devices on which it is stored. The data from this study will be used for my Master?s thesis and will remain in a designated locked room. You may withdraw from the study for any reason, at any time, without providing a reason. If you withdraw from the study, any data you contributed will be destroyed.
