Job Description
* SUMMARY*
The *Military Game Advisor* provides outstanding customer service experiences in military base stores using elements of GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, /The Circle of Life./Working under direct supervision, this position ensures customers are greeted on the sales floor, informed of trade, reservation and loyalty program benefits and thanked. Game Advisors also share product knowledge with customers, ensures products are easy to see and buy, processes customer transactions, and provides a clean, organized store environment in which to shop. The principal business outcome for this role is higher levels of overall store performance and customer satisfaction.
*ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Customer Service
* Provide best in class customer service: promptly greet customers, respond to customer concerns quickly, effectively and courteously; align customer needs with GameStop product and benefit solutions, and recommend additional items as appropriate.
* Promptly process customer purchases/return transactions via Point-of-Sale computer system via PC keyboard, including making accurate change, placing merchandise in a bag, and removing receipt from the printer to give to customer.
* Prioritize customers over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store, outside of the cash wrap area, to assist them.
* Respond to customer comments or questions in person or on the phone. Answer phone calls promptly, courteously and professionally.
* Champion GameStop's competitive advantage, /The Circle of Life/, and actively promote the used video game trade-in program to all customers.
* Promote GameStops unique customer benefits: new title reservations program, the Game Informer magazine subscription, and Power Up Rewards card.
* Request management support as needed to ensure that every customer returns and recommends GameStop to others.
* Thank all customers and invite them to participate in the customer survey.
* Merchandising*
* Organize, alphabetize, and straighten merchandise throughout the store.
* Assist with keeping merchandise areas fully stocked and ensuring that all products are represented on the sales floor.
* Under the direction of the management team, ensure that merchandise is properly priced and represented per the current marketing/promotional plans.
* Help ensure that merchandise process are current and accurate
Loss Prevention / Inventory Control
* Comply with all selling, exchange and refund policies, including check, credit card, and STAR card acceptance procedures.
* Maintain awareness of all in-store activity and stock levels.
* Recognize potential theft/loss situations and provide personal customer service to deter theft.
* Assist with checking shipments for discrepancies/shortages.
Store Operations and Maintenance
* Accomplish administrative and operational duties as directed by Store Manager or authorized supervisor.
* Assist store in meeting company performance goals including sales, profit and shrink goals.
* Dust and clean shelves, counters, fixtures, merchandise, and store equipment.
* Organize backroom product, cash wrap back stock product, and store supplies.
* Vacuum store, pick up and discard paper, packing material, and any other debris.

* BASIC /AND PREFERRED/ QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)*
* Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents
* Must be able to bend, stoop, reach with arms / hands and lift merchandise weighing up to 10 lbs. from ground level to minimum height of 4 feet
* Must be able to move throughout the store unassisted for up to 8 hours
* Internal applicants must be meeting performance expectations in current position over the last 6 months
* / Working knowledge of computerized cash register system preferred/
* / Previous retail or customer service experience preferred/
* / Video game knowledge preferred, but not required/
* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES*
* Proficient customer service skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English; /bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred/
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
* Ability to operate point-of-sale computer system and properly complete required paperwork
* Working understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
* Ability to alphabetize
* Working knowledge of, or capacity to learn after hire, military rank and related insignia
* Proficient self-motivation and ability to work with others as a team to complete necessary tasks in a timely manner
* Ability to remain effective under pressure; ability to handle stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization
* Possess or acquire during employment on-boarding a working understanding of military ranks and related insignia
